What is phycocyanin?

Phycocyanin is an important molecule found in Spirulina. It is a unique anti-cancer and cancer prevention molecule with outstanding properties based on research-proven scientific certification. It is a natural, water-soluble and non-toxic molecule with potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. Various studies also support the strong cytoprotective, hepatoprotective and neuroprotective properties of phycocyanin.

Is phycocyanin safe?

Phycocyanin is naturally designed to meet the unique needs of cancer prevention properties and is presented with essential purity and consistency. The zero toxicity and excellent safety profile of this amazing molecule makes it an unhesitating choice for health-conscious individuals as well as anti-cancer subjects.

Phycocyanin recommendations

Phycocyanin has been endorsed and recommended by oncologists and other medical experts. To date, many cancer specialists and other healthcare providers have made recommendations for the use of the wonderful phycocyanin in the fight against cancer and for general revival.

How phycocyanin protects us from cancer

#Cancer cells #Cancer cells are those whose DNA has been altered to cause uncontrolled division (in most cases an effect caused by oxidative stress). Cancer cells are known to produce large amounts of endogenous reactive oxygen species themselves, which may be responsible for their overgrowth, elucidating the relationship between carcinogenic risk and reactive oxygen species.

Phycocyanin induces apoptosis in existing and proliferating cancer cells and is a natural antioxidant that also helps to eliminate any cancer that promotes oxidative stress. Phycocyanin reduces the amount of cyclooxygenase 2 that is upregulated in cancer cells. It was determined that phycocyanin induces apoptosis in cancer cells by altering the Bcl-2/Bax ratio (Bcl-2 is an anti-apoptotic protein, Bax is a pro-apoptotic protein and the Bcl-2/Bax ratio represents the degree of apoptosis) and the release of Cyt-c from the cytoplasm (Lu et al, 2011).

In addition to its ability to scavenge free radicals, the most widely studied role of phycocyanin is its anti-cancer and apoptotic effects, as well as its anti-cancer and antioxidant capacity. Phycocyanin is able to scavenge free radicals from cells and protect them from damage, thereby preventing or reducing the severity of disease. Studies have shown that phycocyanin is an effective scavenger of oxygen free radicals and also reacts with other pathologically relevant oxidants such as HOCl and ONOO, thus demonstrating that the therapeutic use of phycocyanin appears promising. Phycocyanin is one of the natural molecules with an identified promising value as part of cancer prevention.
